Our thoughts . . . 11-30-07
As we kick off our redesigned website, you will find this to be one of the shortest “Our Thoughts……” columns in the last year. I hope by now you have also noticed a change in our name, EMA Dental Practice Sales. After almost 15 years of serving the Midwest market, I can assure you that it was not done without considerable thought. When Mr. Myers founded this company in 1993 he probably never imagined what an impact we would have in this market place. We have now completed over 200 sales transactions for our clients and have provided consulting, evaluation and placement services to hundreds more. I am so pleased when I walk into a practice, school or trade show and find the name Evan Myers and Associates to be recognized and well received. So why would we change the name?
It all comes down to one word; Marketing. As John Jantsch said in his currently popular book, Duct Tape Marketing, “…no matter what your business claims to do or provide, you’re actually in the marketing business.” We know we are in business to market our clients’ practices to potential buyers and in the last few years it has become an indisputable fact that the internet is the primary source that buyers use to find opportunities. We feel that combining our heritage (EMA) with what we do (Dental Practice Sales) will optimize our listings on the search engines that are so important to reaching our buyers. This kind of marketing concept didn’t exist in 1993 and the time has come to move forward. By early next year all of our advertising, stationery, prospectuses and logos should reflect the new name and our commitment to continue to provide the best solution to our clients’ needs.
